David P. Fulton / Psychotherapy

Frequently Asked Questions

HOW FREQUENT ARE SESSIONS? Research shows that clients who engage in weekly therapy benefit more from their therapy experience than those who come in every other week. For this reason, I find once a week the best place to begin. Initial and ongoing conversation will be had around whether or not multiple sessions a week would be useful for you. I do not offer every other week sessions.

HOW LONG CAN I EXPECT TO BE IN THERAPY? The length of therapy is unique to each individual and truly is determined by your life experiences and your goals for therapy, as well as the extent of your needs. At the beginning of treatment, I will work with you to determine your goals and then check in with you regularly to assess and re-evaluate.

HOW LONG IS EACH SESSION? Each session is 50 mins.

WHAT ARE YOUR FEES? $240 per session.

DO YOUR OFFER SLIDING SCALE SPOTS? I believe that therapy, counseling, and mental health services should be available to all regardless of ability to pay my full therapy fee. I do, at times, have limited sliding scale slots open for those who cannot afford my fee but are ready to invest in therapy. Please inquire about any available openings in our initial contact.

DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE? I am not contracted or able to directly bill insurance companies. However, I am able to provide a monthly receipt for sessions paid in full so that you can offer this to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. It is the responsibility of each client to contact their insurance provider to understand what reimbursement options are.
